How my journey began

I’ve been interested in wellness and vitality for as long as I can remember.

I grew up in rural Maine, and as a little kid, I did Jane Fonda workout videos with my mom (leotards and all!) and yoga poses as play in our living room. My dad taught me the regenerative qualities of the outdoors through hiking, camping, and hunting. I took my first yoga classes in high school and wrote papers on Zen and energy healing.

Then and now - I long to understand what makes people well, vital, and happy in life. Well-being for me means something holistic - it’s about mind, body, emotion, and spirit.

I’m a yoga teacher and Reiki practitioner. I’m a student of spirituality, religion, holistic healing methods, and philosophy.

I’m also a CEO of a fast-growing tech company called Uprise Partners, a board member, and an advisor to entrepreneurs. I love helping people reach their potential! I’ve led teams at some of the world’s biggest organizations - Google and WPP. I write poetry and play music by ear. I’ve designed jewelry in Milan. I’ve studied nonviolent conflict resolution in Jerusalem. I’m a skier and scuba diver. I can hold my own dancing salsa. I love to travel, be with my wonderful husband, family, and friends, and play with my sweet dogs.

Often when I share this with people, they ask me how I’m able to do all these things. They ask how I have the time, the energy, and the motivation.

I’ve been able to experience all of these things because, for the most part, I’ve been well and vital. Being present in life, embracing my passions, and developing myself is an exhilarating journey for me. I love my life. And I embrace change.

I have the energy and aptitude for this in large part because I’ve had a pretty consistent wellness practice my whole adult life that includes physical activity, access to nature, quiet time, prayer and spiritual connection, community, and exploration. And, thank God, I’ve been fortunate to not have significant health struggles.

Of course, like any human being, I have times when I lack energy, am down in the dumps or not motivated, but it doesn’t define me or take me way off track. I try to roll with my own ebbs and flows. I lean on the practices that nourish me, and I grow and heal as I go. That’s what it’s all about - a continuous process.

That’s the perspective I bring to yoga and Reiki. If I can help you be just a little more at peace, a little more at home in your body, feel a little healthier and more vital - that’s why I’m here. Those experiences will build and before you know it, you’ll notice your life is transforming.

Thanks for letting me share a bit of my story with you. I hope this helps you get to know me a little and understand my perspective.

I hope we can have the chance to meet sometime soon whether in a yoga class or a Reiki session.

With love,
Malinda
