Bring yoga into daily life

Yoga and meditation belong in our daily lives.

I'm here to help students discover and nurture their Self-esteem, mental clarity, and overall wellness. This practice is for everyone - no matter their physical ability.

Consistent practice can slowly transform us to be more patient, present, and at peace within ourselves.

In that peace, we sow seeds of joy, and over time, we access deep contentment and a light-hearted way of being.

Yoga Class Styles

Classes are one-hour long and include elements of breath work, and meditation as well as modification suggestions for postures. Hands-on assists are offered with student consent.

Fire Flow Vinyasa

Fire Flow is a fun, energetic vinyasa class set to a motivating soundtrack, sure to help you get your sweat on! We start with gentle postures and breath work, and get into our more athletic flow for about 30 minutes followed by grounding poses and relaxation. This is a great class if you want a physical workout along with all the holistic elements of yoga. Some familiarity with yoga is helpful because we flow through postures. However, experience is not required as you’re always encouraged to practice at your own pace.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga nidra is a guided meditation also called “yogic sleep.” Students lie in savasana, a relaxation pose lying flat on the back. We use supports like pillows and blankets to be comfortable. Class starts with some slow grounding postures to settle into the body and become relaxed. The guided meditation is about 45 minutes long. Students often feel as through only a short time has passed at the end of class, and feel rested and refreshed.

 FAQs

  • The studio is in the community annex space - the back room at the United Methodist Church in Bethel, Maine. The address is 75 Main St. Bethel, ME 04217.

Please enter the front of the building and keep walking back (through the kitchen) to arrive at the yoga space.

  • The community class schedule is updated on this website and all you need to do is arrive at least 5 minutes before class starts to settle in. The studio has mats and props. No need to RSVP in advance.

If you’re interested in a private class, contact me to schedule a time.

  • Wear layers so you can put on more during our relaxing poses and take off a layer as you move. Bring your mat if you like or you can borrow one at the studio. We have blocks, blankets, and bolsters at the studio.

  • Starting with the gentle, restorative class is a great place to start because it’s slower-paced. However, you can start in any yoga class - just take it at your pace. Feel free to contact me, and I can make a recommendation.

Another option is to have a private class if you want some one-on-one attention and guidance.

  • Find the class type that best fits your needs - whether that’s an athletic, energetic class, or a cozy, relaxing class. Check out class descriptions and reach out if you have questions.

  • Yoga is an ancient practice that helps us relax, know ourselves, and become more compassionate and at peace. You may ask, “How could some stretching do all of this?” It’s because yoga is so much more than a physical practice.

My yoga classes combine postures (asanas) with all the other elements of yoga including breathwork (pranayama), meditation, and yogic philosophy.

  • Yoga is not a religious practice. If you choose to embrace the spiritual aspects of the practice, you will have a spiritual experience. Culturally, Yoga has roots in Hinduism, because that’s the culture in which it was founded thousands of years ago.

I teach from a holistic perspective, incorporating various cultural philosophies. All are welcome to practice no matter your faith or spiritual beliefs.

  • Class cancellations will be posted here on the website, and emailed by noon the day of class.

I try my best to keep our schedule consistent and well-communicated. But sometimes sickness - or LOTS of snow - happens!

“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”
